European Team Championship
European Team Championship 2010 -- somthing special
This year's European Team Championship will be played in Leksand /
Sweden. The venue is well known from the European Go Congress 2008. We play at
Leksands Folkshögskola, an area for teaching and living (meals, accomodation)
and swimming direct at lake Siljan.
Playing, accomodation, meals and relaxing, all together. So as usual in
Sweden you can combine Go with holidays - the basic idea of the Swedish
Go-camp over years.
This event will also be the one and only EGF-qualification-tournament for
the planned 2011 Sport Accord Mind Games. Till now it is not finally
decided if this event will come up in 2011. Similar to the 2008 World Mind Sports
Games, but smaller, there will be team-event in 2011 (September) where
countries start with teams. Europe sure will start with at least one
country-team, but probably two teams (3 players per team, mixed gender required).
Sport Accord - the organizer - will pay all, flight-tickets included.
The EGF-board has decided to nominate the winning countries of the Team
Championship 2010 for the 2011 event because we don't have any "Rating-list"
for EGF-member-countries and a possible 2011 Team Championship will be too
late for the nomination process. So, the "tickets" for 2011 are assigned to
two countries, not to the players of the winning country-teams.
